Tribute Album Shelved!

The release of Cheap Trick tribute album, "Cheap Shots," from Castle Communicatrions has been indefinitely postponed due to the bankruptcy of its parent company. Originally, the album was to go on sale Jan. 28, 1997. Twelve bands are said to have participated in the compilation:

Joey Ramone and 22 Jacks "I'll Be With You Tonight"
Posies "Surrender"
Cockpit "Elo Kiddies"
Everclear "Southern Girls"
NY Loose "I Want You to Want Me"
Refreshments "Come On, Come On"
Nixons "Heaven Tonight"
Lister "Need Your Love"
Deep Blue Something "If You Want My Love"
Dig "He's a Whore"
Chainsaw Kittens "Dream Police"
Concrete Blonde "Mandocello"

From the above tracks, Everclear's "Southern Girls" was officially released as a bonus track of their new album (Japanese version). Also available in the said album is their version of "Speed Racer," FYI.

There was a talk that Enuff Z'Nuff would participate in the tribute album, and I really looked forward to hearing them play Cheap Trick song. It's so sad I don't see their name on the list... Enuff Z'nuff is said to have finished recording "Everything Works If You Let It" for the tribute album, by the way.
